Our initiative consists on promoting the Tax to Financial Transactions Tax, so we have created a petition on change.org for collecting signatures supporting this tax. We have sent this petition through e-mail to friends, teachers, families, NGOs and even the members of the Europea Parliament.
For disseminating our initiative and promoting the European Union:
-We have informed about everything that we have done in our social nets.
-We went to a radio station (Onda Cero) and to a newspaper, Diario de Burgos, where we were interviewed about our project in Euroscola.
-We have given talks about the European Union in some Primary Schools and we made a video about it.
-We have made a Glogster, in which we summarized our initiative and incorporated links and videos we made.
-We have interviewed the citizens about their opinion about the EU and the FTT, and we have made a video.
-We also have made booklets with information about the European Countries and the EU institutions in collaboration with other students of our class. With them, we created a mural about the European Union, in our High School.
-We have drawn a comic about the FTT and designed designed a poster for promoting the FTT.
-We have talked with some economists and philosophers, in order to understand better the European Union.
We were supposed to participate in this contest in English but, as we wanted to reach many people (from different ages, countries...) we have translated every text that we have written and subtitled all the videos, so each text is in both languages: English and Spanish.

Talking about democracy / Hablando de democracia.

      Last  Monday, two philosophy teachers of our high school  came with us. They are Rafa and Pedro. They explained us the European Union policies and its government. This helped us to understand them and to choose between all the possible initiatives to improve the EU.
  When explanations were finished, we gathered together with our groups. Then, we started working.

   Este lunes 27, dos profesores de filosofía del centro, Rafa y Pedro, nos hablaron acerca de las políticas y el gobierno de la Unión Europea; para ayudarnos a entender y decidir entre las posibles iniciativas para mejorarla.
     Cuando terminaron las explicaciones, nos reunimos con nuestros respectivos grupos y empezamos a trabajar.

Who are we? / ¿Quiénes somos?


          We are a group of students of 3rd of ESO from the IES Pintor Luis Sáez, in Burgos. We are taking part in the Euroscola contest, which is organised by the European Parliament’s Information Office in Spain together with the Representation of the European Commission.
          This contest consists of creating an improvment initiative for the European Union, and spreading the concept of it, to get the EU closer to all citizens.
          We will post in this blog every activity that we will make about the EU. We will be glad to answer any question that you suggest us.

     Somos un grupo de estudiantes de 3º de la ESO, del IES Pintor Luis Sáez de Burgos, que participamos en el concurso "Euroscola 2014", organizado por la Oficina de Información del Parlamento Europeo en España en colaboración con otros organismos. 
          Este concurso consiste en crear una iniciativa de mejora de la Unión Europea, y difundir la idea de la misma, para acercar la UE a los ciudadanos
Iremos colgando en el blog todas las actividades que vayamos realizando al respecto.
Estaremos encantados de responder cualquier pregunta que nos planteéis. También aceptamos y contestamos cualquier sugerencia acerca de la Unión Europea.
